VirusPerpleXed Bug CW Key used by auction winner
RSGB National Radio Centre (NRC) volunteers were delighted to welcome Terry Dansey, G0BIX and his daughter Susanne to the NRC in early September.
Terry, pictured, is seen operating the recently donated JY1 radio along with the VirusPerpleXed Bug CW Key in front.
Roy Bailey, G0VFS won the Lockdown Category in the RSGB’s annual Construction Competition in 2020 and donated the beautifully-engineered VirusPerpleXed Bug CW Key to an RSGB auction to raise money for NHS Charities Together.
Terry made the winning bid, donated the Morse key to the NRC and enjoyed seeing it for the first during his recent visit to the NRC.
Terry commented “The key is a beautifully made piece of kit. Having won it in the blind auction, I wanted to donate the key to the NRC because it is better that it is seen by many rather than being at my QTH. I also wanted to give some recognition to Ron who engineered it, and for such a worthwhile cause.”
