On Sundays, Appledore and District Amateur Radio Club has a net on 1.860MHz from 9.30am, followed by an SSB net on 144.260MHz at 10.30am. The club has weekday nets taking place from 4pm on 145.450MHz, except Wednesday when the net moves to 144.260MHz between 8 and 9pm. On Monday there is a net via GB3DN at 11am. The Cornish Poldhu Amateur Radio Club is holding another Open Day on Saturday 4 March from 10am. The club welcomes anyone who has an interest in amateur radio, or those that are already licensed, to join them for the day. In the afternoon there will be a short technical talk on QRSS, which is very, very slow QRP CW that can give worldwide contacts, with only a few milliwatts. The club is going to run a construction project to build some QRSS transmitters, costing less than £10 and based on a Raspberry Pi PICO. There will be an opportunity to operate the club station, have a chat and learn more. The club has a superb site on the cliffs overlooking Poldhu Cove and Mounts Bay, with a triband HF beam and multiple dipoles. The location is close to the Poldhu Cove beach with its café, an ideal location for the family while you indulge your radio passion.
