YOTA Croatia 2022 – Day 7
What did you get up to on Day 7?
We headed to Dubovac castle to operate Castles on the Air (COTA). On the way, we were given a tour of Karlovac city and then climbed up to the castle. We operated from the top of the hill in the castle grounds for most of the day, with a short break to explore the castle itself.
On returning to the hostel, there was the closing ceremony where we said goodbye to the friends we had made that week. Richard 9A1TT and Remote Ham Radio very generously donated a laptop with a free licence for remote operation of several top tier contest stations for youngsters. This will be brought back to the UK to allow young operators to experience radio under optimal conditions without having to travel huge distances and spend large amounts of money. We then had a bonfire and YOTA karaoke to celebrate a successful YOTA 2022 camp.
