News for England South-East – 23 December 2018
Due to the Christmas break, several clubs that would normally have meetings this week are closed; these include Chippenham and District Amateur Radio Club, Farnborough and District Radio Society, Cambridge and District Amateur Radio Club, Hog’s Back Amateur Radio Club, Felixstowe and District Amateur Radio Society, Hammersmith Amateur Radio Society and Mid-Sussex Amateur Radio Society.
We have been told that several clubs have events scheduled this week more or less as normal, even on Christmas Day, Tuesday; we suggest you check with the organisers before travelling.
First, advance notice that from the 9 January Farnborough and District Radio Society is moving to Aldershot Army Museum, just off Queens Avenue, Aldershot, GU11 2LG. Meetings are on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, 7.30 for 8pm. Details are at farnboroughradio.org.uk.
Hastings Electronics and Radio Club has a net this Sunday and next Sunday from 11am on 144.575MHz. There is no meeting on Wednesday. Contact Gordon, M3YXH, on 01424 431 909.
Radio Society of Harrow has its club net at noon this Sunday and next Sunday on 1938kHz LSB. On Monday there’s a net from 8.15pm, settling on 145.350MHz. Details from Linda, G7RJL via email to lcasey100@outlook.com.
Surrey Radio Contact Club has a net this Sunday and next Sunday on 1905kHz at 9.30am. There’s no meeting on Monday. On Thursday there’s a net on 70.300MHz from 8pm, and on Friday there’s another net on 145.350MHz, also at 8pm. Enquiries to John, G3MCX, on 020 8688 3322.
Lowestoft District and Pye Amateur Radio Club is having an informal and operating evening on Monday. Thursday sees a club evening. For details, email secretary@ldparc.co.uk.
Colchester Radio Amateurs has a net on Christmas Day, Tuesday, from 7pm on 433.425MHz, moving to 1.925MHz at 7.45pm. On Wednesday there’s a net from 7pm on 145.350MHz. There is no meeting on Thursday. Contact Garry, M0MGP, on 0774 031 8521.
Worthing and District Amateur Radio Club has its Christmas Day net from 10am on 145.550MHz. There are no meetings over the Christmas period but regular nets, which are detailed at wadarc.org.uk, continue as normal. Meetings resume on Tuesday, 15 January, at the new venue, the Worthing Sea Cadets HQ, TS Vanguard, at 9a Broadwater Road, Worthing BN14 8AD. Members are asked to arrive after 7.45pm for an 8pm start.
