News for England South-West – 14 October 2018
We start with news that the Bath Radio Classes team will be running an Intermediate course from 31 October. This will be their last under the current syllabus. Classes will be on Wednesday evenings, from 7 to 9pm, at the Scout HQ in central Bath. The cost will be about £80 including textbook, exam and room hire. An Advanced course will follow on in January. Details from Steve, G0FUW via email to g0fuw@tiscali.co.uk.
Mid-Cornwall Beacon and Repeater Group wish to alert us that the 2m repeater for Cornwall and west Devon, GB3NC, has suffered a logic failure. It is being repaired, but in the meantime the repeater is using a very simple logic of only responding to CTCSS tone of 77Hz and no courtesy pips. It is hoped the repairs to the logic will not take too long, but please bear with them. You can contact them online via gb3nc.org.uk.
