News for England North – 9 September 2018

We start with news from clubs that have several events this week.

This Sunday, Angel of the North Amateur Radio Club is continuing operating a special event station at The Bowes Railway, Gateshead NE9 7QJ, from 10am to 3pm, as part of the Heritage Weekend. They will be setting up in the guards van on the platform. The suggested frequencies are: two, 40 and 80m. On Monday they will be planning for the Fog on the Tyne Rally from seven to 9pm, and on Friday they will be setting up at the rally from 7pm. Today, Oldham Radio Club has their C4FM net, FCS004-55, from 9.30am, and on Wednesday there’s a 2m FM net from 8pm. Thursday sees a club night and Intermediate course, and next Sunday it’s the turn of the D-Star net on REF 14B, from 9.30am. More from Mike, M1CVL, on 0740 276 3203.

On Monday Stockport Radio Society starts its Advanced tutorial. Tuesday sees a net on 51.550MHz FM from 7.30pm. Thursday sees a committee meeting and a net on 145.375MHz FM from 7.30pm. Contact Heather, M6HNS, on 0750 690 4422.
