Colin, G4GBP and friends will be operating GB0WWM from Wilton Windmill about eight miles south east of Marlborough in Wiltshire over the bank holiday weekend. Visitors are welcome, although please do not confuse this Wilton with the Wilton near Salisbury. Derby and DARS will be operating GB2SLC from Stenson Lock over the August Bank Holiday weekend. All volunteers are welcome.
Trowbridge and DARC will be operating an early station, GB0GBR, for Railways on the Air from Great Bulkington Railway, Bulkington, Devizes, Wiltshire SN10 1SW, starting on 31 August from 10am to 3pm.
It is planned to activate Orkney Wireless Museum’s radio station GB2OWM as part of Orkney International Science Festival between 3 and 9 September.
On the Isle of Wight, members of Brickfields ARS are operating GB4AUK to support Age UK on 5 and 6 September from the grounds of Wolverton Manor. Contacts will earn a point for The Isle of Wight County Award.
On 5 and 6 September ON44WAR will be on the air to commemorate the sacrifice of the Belgian Resistance in WWII and especially those of the Refuge B 40. They will be on the air from 0700UTC to 1600UTC on the 5th and 0700 to 1300UTC on the 6th. More details are on www.QRZ.com.
From 1 to 28 September PD2015GH will be on the air to promote the Groene Hart of the Netherlands.
