Contest News – 25 January 2015
The CQ WW 160m DX Contest ends its 48 hours of operation today, the 25th, at 2200UTC. Work everyone. Non-US/VE stations send RST+CQ Zone, which is 14 for the UK, while US/VE stations send RST+state/province code. This is the CW leg of the contest and the SSB leg takes place next month.
On Tuesday the 50MHz UK Activity Contest runs from 2000 to 2230UTC using all modes on the band. The exchange is the usual signal report, serial number and locator.
Also on Tuesday the SHF UK Activity Contests runs from 2000 to 2230UTC on the 2.3 to 10GHz bands. Please note 13cm activity starts 30 minutes later than all the other bands. The exchange is signal report, serial number and locator. This year the M5 multiplier rule is being replaced by M7. The difference will be that Locator squares containing UK stations will be worth two multipliers, whereas Locator squares containing non-UK stations will be worth one multiplier. Don’t worry if your logging program doesn’t score the contest correctly, because the entry robot on the RSGBCC web site will re-score it for you.
On 28th January the UK-EI Contest Club 80m event runs from 2000 to 2100UTC. Using SSB only on the band the exchange is your 4 character locator.
