Pamela Rose, G4STO – 11 November 2024
Pam Rose – Late Hon. Secretary of Lincoln Short Wave Club, died on 11th November 2024 after a long illness. She had been a member of the Lincoln Short Wave Club since in the late 1970’s. I met her 25 years ago when I joined the LSWC. Pam was remarkable. Not only in her professional approach to her voluntary work as our Hon. Secretary and in her previous positions on the committee – including Chairman and Treasurer at various times, but also as a lovely lady with a drive that was the envy of many! She was totally reliable, had a very special dry humour and you knew exactly where she stood in respect of any difficult issues that arose.
Whatever problems did arise Pam would find some way of solving them! Whatever our club did Pam was sure to be at the hub of all activities undertaken. She was indeed a lady of many talents, very courageous and dignified especially in the way she fought her illness to the end. Her aim was to keep her beloved club on an even keel. Acting as the “anchor”, an aim she so effectively achieved for so many years and for which we, the members, are so very grateful.
Pam G4STO is now a “silent key” but her impressive legacy will be with us for many years to come.
May she Rest In Peace.

President – Lincoln Short Wave Club
Additional contribution from the Directors and associates of the National Hamfest
Pam was a founding Director of National Hamfest (Lincoln) Ltd and was, additionally, Company Secretary. Pam approached both roles with her inimitable good humour and rigorous attention to detail. Volunteer staffing and many of the administrative duties necessary to run a successful event were managed by Pam – always on time and to precise detail. Pam will be a great loss to the event and I pass on the condolences we have received from many who came to meet her through the event over many years.
RIP Pam, we shall greatly miss you.
