GR2HQ challenge: get involved!
The RSGB Contest Committee is looking forward to the IARU HF Championship contest on 12-13 July. This is a great opportunity for both individuals and clubs to get involved. During the contest, Headquarters Stations represent their countries and the RSGB’s station GR2HQ will be run by a network of about a dozen stations around the UK and islands.
A new challenge for this year
Building on the success of last year’s GR2HQ Challenge, the RSGB Contest Committee has made some changes to encourage individual stations to work the GR2HQ station on each band-mode slot. The contest is open to both individuals or clubs so why not encourage your club members to take part whether they are regular contesters or not.
Logs and scoring
This year, to make life simpler, you won’t need to submit your log. All you will need to do, after the contest, is to visit the RSGB Contest Committee web page and register your entry to the Challenge. You will need to provide your name, call sign and email address.
Your score will be calculated by the adjudicator who will automatically search the GR2HQ log for all QSOs made by GR2HQ with your station.
If you provide your club or group name when you register your entry, each QSO with GR2HQ will count towards an aggregate score for your club or team.
There will be two results tables, one for individuals taking part and one for clubs, so your QSOs can contribute to both.
Support the RSGB’s station, GR2HQ
Last year, thanks in part to those entering the GR2HQ Challenge, the GR2HQ Team improved its position from third to second. Needless to say, it would like to improve that result even further. Could you take part and make a difference?
