DX News – 16 August 2015
Jim, G3RTE, Phil, G3SWH and Matt, MJ0ASP will be QRV from the Island of Cezembre, off St Malo, as F/G6AY/P between 16 and 19 August. This is IOTA reference EU-157. They plan to have two 100 watt stations with vertical antennas on 30 to 10 metres, CW only. Cezembre is one of Europe’s rarest islands in the IOTA programme, being needed by more than 60 percent of IOTA participants. Activity will be during daylight hours only as it is not permitted to stay on the island overnight. There will be a log search at www.g3swh.org.uk/f-g6ay.html. QSL via G3SWH, either via OQRS via the web page, which is the preferred method, or direct with SAE and adequate return postage, or via the RSGB bureau. Please check the online log before requesting QSLs and note that IRCs, stamps or coins are not accepted.
Another holiday style operation is S79DPX operating from the Seychelles. This is IZ2DPX, who will be there until 23 August. He is using a multi-band vertical and is active on SSB.
Pedro, ON7WP will be active again in his spare time as C5WP from The Gambia from 15 August to 1 September. During the first week he will operate from the village of Buntu, with a focus on the WARC bands, but he will also give 6m a try. He will then move to the coastal area, where he will focus on the low bands. QSL via his home callsign, direct only.
Volker, DL1ZB will be active until 29 September as SV5/DL1ZB from Kos, Dodecanese, IOTA reference EU-001. He will operate SSB, RTTY, SSTV and PSK63 on 20-6 metres. QSL via DL1ZB, bureau preferred, or Logbook of The World and eQSL.
