DX News – 25 August 2013

Hans, ON6ZK is active as SV5/ON6ZK/P from Kos Island, which is IOTA reference EU-001, until 30 August. He will be on the air mainly on 20 metres SSB and CW. QSL via his home callsign, with the bureau being preferred.

N6TJ will be on the air from Ascension Island, IOTA reference AF-003, in September, operating with the callsign ZD8Z. He will be active on HF bands. QSL via AI4U.

G7COD is operating stroke EA8 from Gran Canaria, AF-004, until August 31st. He is active on all bands from 6 to 30 meters. QSL as directed by the operator.

E78A is currently operational from Jordan as JY9FC. He is reported to be active on all of the HF bands. QSL to E73Y.

VK6DXI will be active as 9M8DX/2 from Kuala Lumpur until 3 September. His operation will be limited since this is a business trip, but he will operate some CW during his local evening hours. QSL via SP5UAF.

9M2SE will activating Pulau Indah, IOTA AS-074, and also celebrating Malaysia’s 56th independence day on the air from 0000UTC on 31 August to 0900UTC on 1 September. They will be using 100 watt transceivers, a vertical antenna and a tribander Yagi on 10 to 40m using CW and SSB. QSL instructions are on QRZ.com.

Mario, CE0ZOL is active from Juan Fernandez Island, NA-041. He will be on the island for about 6 months while manager of the local aerodrome. Activity will take place mainly at weekends.
