British Science Week 2025

The RSGB was one of the official partners for British Science Week 2025. The theme was ‘Change and Adapt’.

As an official partner for BSW 2025, we had an amateur radio activity in the official Community Activity Pack.

It is a simple activity that is designed to get people on the air. Whilst the activity was originally designed for use with DMRs, it can be done with any radio or on any band – so get involved and try it with your family, friends and club colleagues!

More change and adapt activities 

As well as the amateur radio activity that featured in the British Science Week Community pack, the RSGB Outreach team created two other activities that fitted in with the 2025 British Science Week theme of ‘Change and adapt’.

• Observing the Sun and understanding aurora: Using a special solar telescope, learn about the Sun and its cycle of change

• Observing the Moon: During British Science Week monitor the Moon’s phases. Learn where NASA astronaut Neil Armstrong landed in 1969
