YOTA Czechia 2024 – Day 4
Dobrý den! (I’m trying to pick up some Czech whilst I’m here!)
Today was all about kit building, which is one of my favourite aspects of amateur radio. I love to just put in my headphones and solder away! Today we made an end-fed, multi band antenna and a QRP FM receiver. Most of my operation outside of my G6UW ops is QRP, so these kits will definitely be making an appearance at home!
This evening I made over 100 QSOs on 40m. The OL24YOTA call is proving very popular at the moment, and it’s great to practise my pile-up management (especially with four other operators in the same room doing exactly the same!)
We’re lucky to have a great station setup here at our accommodation. We can operate 10/15/20/40/80m bands, plus 432MHz on satellite and also the remote station at OK1RCR.
