Honorary Mature Members’ Officer
Are you passionate about the need to attract older people to the wonderful hobby of amateur radio while retaining and engaging with our existing senior members?
We are seeking a dedicated volunteer to serve as our Honorary Mature Members’ Officer.
Role overview
This honorary position will play a vital part in engaging with other organisations and groups with older members who may be interested in becoming radio amateurs. The role is designed for someone who is enthusiastic about championing the ethos of amateur radio and how it can be enjoyed by all irrespective of age.
Key responsibilities
- Identify organisations or groups with memberships that include older people who may be interested in amateur radio as a hobby
- Help identify ways the RSGB can support lifelong enjoyment of amateur radio, including accessibility, training, and social engagement
- Contribute ideas to keep mature members connected, informed and valued within our community
- Liaise with RSGB volunteers and staff to ensure the voices of mature members are heard
About you
To apply for this role, you’ll need to be:
- An RSGB member, ideally with considerable experience or strong interest in the needs of mature radio amateurs
- Friendly, approachable, and an excellent communicator
- Comfortable working with RSGB volunteers and staff
- Passionate about helping others remain active and involved in the hobby they love
This is an honorary, volunteer role. Time commitment is flexible and can be tailored to your availability.
