We are currently shipping a 3rd edition of this book marked ‘Printed 2024’ and currently this has the reported corrections or updates below. There is also a Kindle edition of this book and any updates reported here have already been incorporated into that.
This book is for use on with exams taking place after the 1 September 2024 using exam syllabus version 1.6a

Page 7, Technical Basics
Col 3, Para 3 Please replace the first sentence with ‘Table A in schedule 1 to the licence shows Foundation amateurs have access to the amateur bands from 135.7Khz to 440 MHz, 2GHz, 5GHz and 10GHz.’
Page 22, Licence Conditions
Col 1 Syllabus item 1C1 – replace the first two emboldened paragraphs with:
‘Recall the requirements to send messages only to other amateur radio stations and only using UK Amateur frequencies.’
‘Recall that a ‘Net’ or ‘Network’ refers to transmissions to three or more amateurs with whom communication and identification has been established.’

Col 1 Syllabus item 1D2 – replace the wording with:
‘Recall that a person authorised by Ofcom may require the Licence holder to keep a log of all transmissions made over a specified period of time.’

Col 3 Syllabus item 1H1 – replace the wording with:
‘Identify relevant information in Schedule 1 to the Foundation licence.
Recall the difference between Primary and Secondary status and that other services may also be present with such status in some allocations.’
A copy of the relevant part of Schedule 1 will be available during the examination.’
