RSGB Board – December 2024 key messages

Following its meeting in December, the RSGB Board has shared these key messages:

• The Board received a P&L for the 2024 Convention – it had broken even which was in line with expectations. The Board wants to hold a 2025 Convention but to do so the Society must recruit a new Convention Chair and Lecture Co-ordinator. Both roles have been advertised and a report would be made to the January Board

• The 2025 Budget was agreed. This included an increase in member subscriptions by £6 – this was needed because of the increase in employers’ National Insurance, general inflation and to help further reduce the deficit whilst working to deliver the strategic priorities

• Notice has been published in RadCom and online of the start of the election process which leads to the 2025 AGM. There are vacancies for a President, two Directors and eight Regional Representatives. The closing date for nominations is 31 January 2025
