Special Events News – 26 January 2014
SOS Radio Week started at midnight and ends at 23:50 on the 2nd of February. Many sponsored stations are on the air, ranging from individuals at home through to groups operating from club HQs, lifeboat stations and other public venues. All are raising money for the RNLI. Details of registered stations and their operating schedules can be found online at www.sosradioweek.org.uk.
19th century pirate Jose Gaspar is being celebrated by special event station W4G in Tampa, Florida this weekend. Operation is on 40 to 10m SSB and CW and Sunday’s operating hours are planned to be 1400-2100GMT.
