Rallies and Events News – 15 June 2014
The 27th Newbury Radio Rally takes place today, 15 June, at the Newbury Showground, next to M4 J13. Car parking is free and entry is £2.50. Gates open at 9am. There will be a huge radio, electronics and computing boot sale including a demonstration marquee with displays of amateur radio on air, air traffic radar, plus clubs and national society stands. The South Lancs Summer Rally takes place on 21 June at the Bickershaw Labour Club, Bickershaw Lane, Bickershaw, Wigan WN2 5TE. Traders have access from 7.30am and the doors open for the public at 9am. Entry is £2 and there will be a Bring and Buy, special interest groups alongside the usual trade stands. On 22 June the East Suffolk Wireless Revival, otherwise known as the Ipswich Radio Rally will be held at the Orwell Crossing Lorry Park, A14 Eastbound, Nacton, Ipswich IP10 0DD. Doors open at 9.30am and entry is £2. Visitors can expect trade stands, a Bring and Buy, special interest groups and a RSGB bookstall. Details from Kevin, G8MXV on 07710 046 846.
The LAM Communications Rally will take place on 22 June and is in aid of Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Held at Building 21, Elsecar Heritage Centre, Wath Road, Elsecar, Barnsley, S74 8HJ, visitors will find admission to the Heritage Centre and CP free with entry to the rally £2.
