Special Regional Secondary Locator Q
In response to requests from radio amateurs and after contact from Ofcom, a special RSL “Q” was available from Wednesday, 14 September 2022 until the end of official national mourning on Monday, 19 September 2022.
Any licensed radio amateur was able to use this after their UK callsign prefix to show their respect for the Queen if they wished to do so.
For example, GQ4LFM, MQ1ACB or 2Q0ABC.
Radio amateurs needed to download a special Notice of Variation (NoV) which was available from the RSGB website during the mourning period.
