Important information for all Newsreaders

As you know, the RSGB receives special dispensation from Ofcom for you to broadcast the news, an activity otherwise prohibited within the amateur radio licence.

Ofcom now wish to update this dispensation by issuing each newsreader with their own Notice of Variation (NoV) to their licence.

The process for this is quite straightforward, and mirrors the NoVs that they have recently issued for 5 MHz and 472 KHz.

Please go to www.rsgb.org/gb2rsnov where you will receive instructions on how to complete an on-line application.

When you have completed and submitted the form, you will receive your NoV by email.

The information you will need to supply is as follows;

Name
Main Station Address
Call sign
Licence number

The Nov will be valid for 3 years and will be renewable for as long as you continue to read the news.
