Contest News – 8 February 2015
On Sunday the 8th, the 432MHz Affiliated Societies contest takes place from 0900 to 1300UTC. Using all modes in the band the exchange is signal report, serial number and locator. This is one of the qualifying events for the Super League.
On Tuesday the 432MHz UK Activity Contest takes place from 2000 to 2230UTC. Using all modes the exchange is the usual signal report, serial number and locator.
On Wednesday it’s the data leg of the 80m Club Championships running from 2000 to 2130UTC. The exchange is signal report and serial number.
The First 1.8MHz Contest is on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th running from 2100 to 0100UTC. There are CW-only, SSB-only and mixed mode sections for UK and non-UK stations. Please remember that on CW below 1850kHz UK Full licensees are allowed to run 400 watts and Intermediates 50 watts, whereas on SSB above 1850kHz Full and Intermediate licensees are limited to 32 watts. The exchange is signal report, serial number and district.
The first WPX contest of the year is the RTTY leg, which will be held over the entire 48 hours of the 14 and 15th. Using the 3.5 to 28MHz bands the exchange is signal report and serial number.
If RTTY isn’t your thing, the Dutch PACC Contest is held for 24 hours over the same weekend on CW and SSB running from 1200UTC to 1200UTC. Work Dutch stations only, exchanging a signal report and serial number. Dutch stations send a 2-letter province code, instead of a serial number. There are twelve provinces, which act as multipliers to the score.
