On Thursday Bushvalley ARC hosts a lecture on The Secret Listeners of Gilnahirk from 7.30pm at the United Services Club, 8 Roe Mill Road, Limavady BT49 9DF. Gilnahirk Wireless Station was officially switched off in 1978 after 38 years of full-time operation. What is now described as Northern Ireland’s best kept secret of WWII is finally out in the open. With firm connections to the work of Bletchley Park and the code breakers, this lecture will for the first time reveal the contribution made by those in Northern Ireland. It is a must for any one with an interest in military history. Entry is free, as is car parking, and there’s a talk-in channel operating on 145.450MHz from 6.30pm.Contact Jason, MI3UIW, on 0779 331 4313 or email gi0azb@btinternet.com.
