Carmarthen Amateur Radio Society is holding its annual members, partners and their families-only outdoor barbecue this coming Tuesday 15 July, starting at 6.30pm, weather permitting. Members are invited to bring along whatever food they would like the chef to cook for them, relax, enjoy and just have some fun. Please bring your own drinking vessel and something to sit on. There may be talk-in from site on 145.550MHz FM, or via the GB3CM repeater for those that need it. Three weekly nets will be held as usual: a 70cm FM net on GB3CM on Wednesday starting at 7.30pm; a 2m FM net on GB3FG on Thursday starting at 8pm, assuming the repeater is available. If it is not, then XLX490D is the fallback. And an 80m SSB net on Sunday starting at 2.30pm, immediately followed by an experimental 40m SSB net. Chepstow and District Amateur Radio Society meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month, from 7.30pm, in the Scout hut next to the British Legion on Grahamstown Road, Sedbury, Chepstow, NP16 7AD. The Society welcomes all radio users. gw4lwz.co.uk

Cwmbran and District Amateur Radio Society has a club night every Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm at Henllys Village Hall, NP44 6JZ. New and old members are always welcome. The Society has a fully-equipped shack for member use which also houses the GB3YA repeater, with an Echolink connection, via GB3YA-R. Both are owned and maintained by the club. Highfields Amateur Radio Club meets at Rhiwbina Recreation Club, Lon Y Dail, Cardiff, CF14 6EA at 7pm every Tuesday. The Club has access for disabled visitors.
