Carmarthen Amateur Radio Society is holding a face-to-face ‘Single Band Aerial Building’ meeting on Tuesday 19 September starting at 6.30pm, so there is no Digital Net on XLX490D that evening. Three other regular nets are being held: a 70cm FM net on GB3CM on Wednesday starting at 7.30pm; a Digital Multimodal net on XLX490D on Thursday starting at 8pm whilst GB3FG is being repaired; and an 80m SSB net on Sunday starting at 12.30pm. Cwmbran and District Amateur Radio Society has a club night every Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm at Henllys Village Hall, NP44 6JZ. New and old members are always welcome. The Society has a fully-equipped shack for member use which also houses the GB3YA repeater, with an Echolink connection via GB3YA-R, which are both owned and maintained by the club. Highfields Amateur Radio Club meets at Rhiwbina Recreation Club, Lon Y Dail, Cardiff, CF14 6EA at 7pm every Tuesday. The club has access for disabled visitors. There are nets on GB3WB from 9.30pm to 10.30pm most nights of the week. During the summer, the club also has a regular net on 2m SSB. On the 3 October, the club will be hosting a talk about SOTA activation. Kevin Nicholls, MW0KXN is a seasoned SOTA activator and will be giving a presentation describing his setup, valuable lessons he has learned, and sharing some photos of recent trips.
