News for England Midlands – 22 March 2020

As mentioned in the Main News, many clubs have notified us that they are suspending meetings due to the Covid-19 outbreak. As the government advice is to refrain from social gatherings, we have only included the details of regular nets as well as those newly created in place of club meetings. Several clubs have suggested keeping an ear on your local repeater to chat with anyone who is self-isolating or just wanting a chat.

Northampton ARS has cancelled all meetings for the foreseeable future. The daily nets on 145.36250MHz FM at 10.30am and 6pm will continue. Updates will be posted at https://northamptonradioclub.co.uk

After consulting its members, South Kesteven ARS has cancelled all meetings until the end of April. The weekly net on GB3GR will still go ahead.

Midland Amateur Radio Society has cancelled all meetings. The club net on Mondays from 7.30pm on 145.425MHz continues as normal. Details from Norman, G8BHE, on 0780 807 8003.
RAF Waddington Amateur Radio Club has cancelled all club meetings until further notice. The normal schedule of nets will remain in operation, including on Mondays from 8pm on 145.325MHz. Contact Bob, G3VCA, on 0797 116 6250.

Sutton Coldfield Amateur Radio Society has cancelled all club meetings until further notice. There will be an open net on Mondays from 7.30pm on 145.250MHz FM, plus the Tuesday open DMR net via GB7FW slot/local 2 from 7.30pm. Details from Robert Bird, via email to rob2e0zap@gmail.com

Loughborough & District Amateur Radio Club has cancelled its programme until further notice. The normal nets will continue, including Sundays and Tuesdays from 7.30pm around 145.425MHz, and on Thursdays from 8pm either on simplex or vias the repeater. Contact Pam Rose, G4STO, on 01427 788 356.

Malvern Hills RAC has suspended all meetings until further notice. The Wednesday net will continue as usual from 8pm on 145.350MHz FM. Contact Dave, G4IDF, on 01905 351 568.

Rugby Amateur Transmitting Society has its daily net on 144.275MHz SSB from 8.30am. Contact Steve, G8LYB, on 01788 578 940.

Coventry Amateur Radio Society has nets on Monday from 8pm on 145.375MHz FM and 7.175MHz SSB. Wednesday sees a DMR net from 8.30pm on Talk Group 2345974, then on Thursday a net on 50.175MHz SSB from 7pm. Contact John, G8SEQ, on 0795 877 7363 for more details.

Gloucester Amateur Radio & Electronics Society has a club net from 7.30pm on 145.475MHz FM on Wednesday, and on Thursday another club net starting at 7.30pm on 145.475MHz, which then moves to 80m SSB.
