Bury Radio Society members Paul, M7JAP and daughter Jessica, M7NGT celebrated a double success when they both recently achieved RSGB Brickworks awards. Paul, having progressed through the scheme over several months, was awarded Gold. Jessica, the Society’s newest Foundation licence holder, was awarded Bronze. To achieve these awards, Paul and Jessica had to complete several challenges with the support of the Society’s members. These included constructing an item of equipment, setting up a field station, attending a rally, logging at a special event station, and collecting Worked All Britain squares, to name just a few! Bury Radio Society Chair, Lynda Jopson, G6QA commented “We’re all very proud of Paul and Jessica’s achievements and, as always, our experienced members were pleased to help them gain new amateur radio skills and experiences. Our Society was one of the first clubs to affiliate itself with Brickworks, and we think it’s an amazing way to encourage new licensees to go forwards with their learning in a fun way.”
