On Sundays, Appledore and District Amateur Radio Club has a net on 1.860MHz from 9.30am, followed by an SSB net on 144.260MHz at 10.30am. The club has weekday nets taking place from 4pm on 145.450MHz, except Wednesday when the net moves to 144.260MHz between 8 and 9pm. On Monday, there is a net via GB3DN at 11am. Holsworthy Amateur Radio Club’s weekly net has been suspended for the summer period and will resume on the 4 September. The club has produced a user guide for holiday-makers and visitors to the area who wish to bring DMR radio equipment. A number of local DMR repeaters are connected to the unique South West Cluster which is an expanding coordinated group of repeaters that operate across the region. Visitors are invited to adjust their code plugs accordingly to take advantage of the features the network has to offer. The guide can be downloaded from the club website and Facebook pages. Radio Operators Cornwall holds its Operators Net every Thursday around 145.425MHz FM. All are welcome to join in and shortwave listener reports are always appreciated. Covering all of Cornwall and into South Devon, the net has a focus on portable operations, but mobile and fixed stations are equally welcome.
A reminder now that that Radio Operators Cornwall is holding summer CAMP ROC between the 4 and 7 August. Their dedicated radio field at Castle Gate overlooking Penzance and Mounts Bay is primed and ready. Facilities and attractions include: a cold-water supply, mains power, portaloo and HF and VHF stations. Non-member day visitors are welcome from 10am to 8pm for no charge. There will be lots of friendly chat, support and discussion of radio-related matters, antenna building and workshops et cetera.
