These groups are already planning their British Science Week 2026 activities – what will you be doing?

  • Altrincham Grammar School for girls (GX1AGS) will be building FM radio receiver kits and Morse code tutor kits. They’ll also be opening up the existing club to more students, as well as linking amateur radio with the physics curriculum. They are keen to organise skeds* via GX1AGS on QRZ.com.  The event itself is for school students only and is not open to the public

  • Bishop Auckland Radio Amateur’s Club (G4TTF) are planning on working with a range of schools in the Bishop Auckland area. Activities will include FT8 and Morse. Students will receive certificates in recognition of their achievement and participation. This event is for school students only and is not open to the public

  • Bishop Auckland RAF Air Cadets will be holding a Morse-athon evening for RAF Cadets. This event is not open to the public

  • Crowthorne & Wokingham Without NMI Men’s Shed with Bracknell ARC, will be working as G8EYM. The group is planning to operate during BSW and would appreciate skeds*, especially with other Men’s Sheds. These can be organised via bsw@rsgb.org.uk. They will be open to the public during BSW and would love to hear from you

  • Norfolk Amateur Radio Club (NARC) is intending to support the City of Norwich School with its Norwich Science Festival. This event is open to the public

  • South Derbyshire & Ashby Woulds Amateur Radio Group (G0SRC) will be hosting an open weekend for all the family. They will have ideas for a budget shack, Morse activities and much more. They would love to hear from you to arrange a sked* – get in touch via G0SRC on QRZ.com

  • St Peter-In-Thanet CE Junior School will be working the “Riding the Waves project. This event is for school students only and is not open to the public. They are seeking skeds* via g7oho@rsgb.org.uk

  • Trowbridge and District ARC

  • UTC South Durham

  • Wick High School Radio Club (GM0WHS) will be running CW nets on V-band throughout the week – https://hamradio.solutions/vband/

*A “sked” refers to a pre-arranged radio contact, meaning a scheduled time to communicate with another radio operator on a particular frequency.
