Amateurs in the south-west area are invited to take part in a ‘long-range’ test of the GB3WD repeater. The test will take place on Sunday, 3 September from 12pm to 3pm. As a target, it is hoped that contacts will be possible from Truro to Torbay via the repeater. If you would like to take part in the test, please email Chris, M0ZCP via chrisparker33@hotmail.com
On Sundays, Appledore and District Amateur Radio Club has a net on 1.860MHz from 9.30am, followed by an SSB net on 144.260MHz at 10.30am. The club has weekday nets taking place from 4pm on 145.450MHz, except Wednesday when the net moves to 144.260MHz between 8 and 9pm. On Monday, there is a net via GB3DN at 11am. The Cornish Radio Amateur Club is active from Moseley Heritage Museum today, the 27th and tomorrow, the 28th. This is an open weekend event. Anyone who is interested is very welcome to come along. Guernsey Amateur Radio Society has a net on Tuesday from 8pm on 145.525MHz. On Thursday the DMR net is from 8pm on GB7GY, talk group 23515, time slot 1. All are welcome to join in. Holsworthy Amateur Radio Club’s weekly net has been suspended for the summer period and will resume on the 4th of September. The club has produced a user guide for holiday-makers and visitors to the area who wish to bring DMR radio equipment. A number of local DMR repeaters are connected to the unique South West Cluster which is an expanding coordinated group of repeaters that operate across the region. Visitors are invited to adjust their code plugs accordingly to take advantage of the features the network has to offer. The guide can be downloaded from the club’s website and Facebook pages.
