YOTA Croatia 2022 – Day 1

| July 29, 2022

What did you get up to on Day 1?

The UK team landed in Zagreb and immediately met up with some other teams at the airport. There were a few familiar faces but plenty of new ones we would get to know during the week ahead. Our hosts arranged travel from the airport to Karlovac, the location of the event, and we were greeted with the sight of an impressive array of antennas setup in front of the hotel. The Croatian organisers welcomed us to YOTA 2022, and we had a relaxed meal followed by some stargazing with telescopes. It was a great start to the week, and we certainly had a lot to look forward to.

What was your favourite bit of the day?

First meeting some of the other teams.

What are you looking forward to next?

Tomorrow’s timetable includes a presentation and practical exercise on digital models, an introduction to amateur satellites and QO-100, a construction activity and a group discussion about sustainability within amateur radio. Finally, the day will conclude with our first Train the Trainer activity, a huge focus of YOTA 2022.
