The winter YOTA camp was one of the best experiences of my life so far, it was amazing to meet so many other members of the amateur radio community from different backgrounds and countries.

While attending the camp, I gained new knowledge about many different aspects of the hobby I did not previously have. The talk on satellites was especially interesting to me as I have always wanted to experiment with satellites but lacked the knowledge.

I also particularly enjoyed the demonstration of a model jet engine. While there were a few technical issues to start with, it was a very impressive demonstration after it worked, deafening us temporarily and we all smelled of kerosene afterwards.

We also took part in an off-air contest which consisted of speaking to each other to make contacts, and the QRM was the noise of everyone else talking loudly. It was a very enjoyable contest that allowed us to experience a high adrenaline contest within a 10-minute time frame.
