Keith Rothwell, G8EAP, 7th September 2018
Keith Rothwell, G8EAP died on 7 September, aged 71. He was a lifelong member of Bury Radio Society and, although completely blind, took an active part in the activities and management of the Society. Keith also found time to be a local councillor, school governor, and an active member of at least three other local societies.
Being blind was just an inconvenience to Keith. He embraced every aspect of technology available to assist him and could usually be seen carrying the latest gizmo that converted text to speech and vice versa. He used this technology as sighted people use a diary and, in consequence, he always followed up on conversations and promises.
Bury Radio Society will miss him, and so, no doubt, will the other organisations of which he was a member.
Tribute by Mike Bainbridge, G4GSY
