George Davis, G3ICO, 2nd October 2017
George Davis, G3ICO sadly passed away on Monday 2nd October 2017. He will be sorely missed by everyone especially his family and the members of the Yeovil Amateur Radio Club, which George joined in late 1940.
After leaving to raise his family, George rejoined the club in 1994. He held several of the club’s offices including instructor, a duty which he carried out until his recent illness. Self-taught, he gained his licence in 1952 and, being an ex RAF Radio Operator (Coastal Command in Sunderlands), he carried on with his skills on the key throughout his life.
George held the club call sign G3CMH and was an avid CW QRP operator. His ready wit and willingness to help anybody endeared him to all the club members past and present, while he made many friends around the world on the key.
Thanks for all the memories George.
