RSGB Youth Team is recruiting

| January 5, 2023

The Youth Team exists to encourage young people into the hobby, and consists of young people and adults up to the age of 26 who understand the needs of that age range

The team currently has 33 members, based far and wide across the UK, and is currently seeking a new Youth Champion.

The team has skills ranging from electronic engineering to teaching and, of course, there are some who are still at school.

The Youth Team is not a deciding committee, but the members support the team’s activities and try to work for the good of any young person who is interested in radio.

Skills are gained by attending events like the IARU YOTA (Youngsters on the Air) summer camps with young people from other countries, where Train the Trainer events are run.

We are expanding the Youth Team and are very keen to hear from young people who feel they could help us.

  • You don’t need to be an amateur radio licence holder; all you need is a keen interest in radio
  • You do need to be able to work with anyone and respect everyone
  • You should be computer literate and check your emails regularly

Lots of the work will be planning events, attending shows and writing articles – after all, you’re the youth face of the RSGB!

If this sounds like you then please send an email to youth.champion@rsgb.org.uk
