Today, 12 October, from 10.30am to 4pm, Cray Valley RS will be at Crossness Museum, Belvedere Road, Abbey Wood, London SE2 9AQ with the GB2CM exhibition stand. It will feature how to get started in amateur radio and the support offered by Cray Valley in providing licence training courses and guidance for newcomers. As the open day theme is local history the stand will also feature some local history connections with radio by including a small display of memorabilia from KW Electronics, K-B and Burndept/Vidor, companies all located only a few miles from the museum site.

Second Herrington Scouts are on the with GB2SHG air for Jamboree on the Air on the 18 and 19 October. They will be on all HF bands as well as 2m and 70cm and PSK31 from their Scout headquarters at Crow Lane, Herrington, Sunderland, SR33TE. This year is the 33rd time that the special event station commemorating the liberation of Knokke by Canadian troops in 1944 will be in operation. This year the club are using the special prefix OO for the station, so OO4CLM will be on the air from 16 October to 15 November. More information on the station and how to obtain an award is at www.oo4clm.be.

On 18 and 19 October, GB1GLO will be in operation over the JOTA weekend for Gloucester District Scouts, run by members of Gloucestershire RAYNET from the Murray Hall, Tuffley Lane, Gloucester.

Scouts in the Forest of Dean will be using GB1ALS and GB0FOD, operating from Lydney on 18 and 19 October.
