Operating awards update – July 2024
- At the halfway point of 2024, we had issued 19 awards this year, slightly less than usual
- 11 of the 19 awards issued have gone to non-UK amateurs, a higher percentage than usual although this evens out to between 25% and 33% by end of year usually
- IARU Region 1 awards are most popular, followed by the 50MHz and Commonwealth Century awards.
- No special event awards are currently planned this year, but consideration is being given to variations on the Marathon/Challenge idea that runs over a specified time period to achieve target criteria.
- We are looking into the feasibility of offering electronic-only awards across more of the portfolio, and ways of automating their issue
