Operating GB3RS

We encourage visiting UK radio amateurs to use the GB3RS station (subject to time and visitor numbers)

Foundation and Intermediate licence holders will need to be supervised by an NRC volunteer with a Full licence.

If you’re a licensed radio amateur and would like to operate GB3RS, you’ll need to bring a copy of your amateur radio licence and valid photo ID.

If you’re visiting us from overseas and hold a Full, Advanced or Extra class of licence, you are also welcome to operate GB3RS.

Again, you will need to show your amateur radio licence along with valid photo ID.

If you don’t have an amateur radio licence, you can still listen to other people making contacts, or even get on the radio yourself under the supervision of one of our NRC volunteers.

Are you a lapsed radio amateur?

We are keen to support radio amateurs whose licence has lapsed.

Maybe you drifted away from the hobby due to work or family pressures?

Our volunteers can offer you advice on how to revalidate your licence by approaching Ofcom.
