Events and group visits

We run activities which inspire young people to consider careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths)

These include Foundation licence training days for Arkwright Engineering Scholarships students and public ‘Build a Radio’ workshops (supported by the Radio Communications Foundation).

Each December, the NRC hosts the Youngsters on the Air call sign, encouraging young people to get on the air, whether they are licensed or not.

When astronauts on board the International Space Station link up with UK schools via amateur radio, this always proves popular with visitors. Find out more about the Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) programme.

We’re proud to host a series of special events throughout the year at the RSGB National Radio Centre. These include the international Enigma Reloaded event and the Special Operations Executive demo station, GB1SOE.

Want to arrange a private mid-week evening visit?

We welcome visits from amateur radio clubs, Scouts, Girl Guides and Cadet groups. Email nrc.support@rsgb.org.uk for more information.
