Above 275GHz NoV

thz-graphicFrequencies above 275 GHz, the terahertz bands, are a new area for experimentation and propagation research.

Ofcom have generously enabled low-power NoV access for Full licensees in order to facilitate innovation at the cutting edge of RF technology.

The NoV includes a number of conditions related to frequency bands, and protection zones around key UK radio astronomy sites for which guidance is available.

Please read the NoV application form and terms carefully since there are detailed frequency and geographic requirements; for example, it is a requirement to specify any additional usage locations in addition to your main station address.

  • Your address and postcode
  • The address, grid reference or coordinates of any additional operating locations
  • Your call sign
  • Your licence reference (the number of your amateur radio licence)
  • Your email address
