RSGB Club Examinations – Terms and Conditions

These are the Terms & Conditions for RSGB examinations booked by Club Exam Secretaries.

Candidate Availability
It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that they are available at the time of the booked examination.  In order to be available for an examination it is also the responsibility of the candidate, in the case of an online examination, to ensure that the all aspects of their computer related functions are working correctly prior to the examination.  Failure to be available for an examination how so ever caused will result in the loss of the appointment and the fee paid.

Proof of Identity
It is a requirement of all Amateur Radio Examinations that candidates provide photographic ID. In the case of face to face examinations this will need to be shown to the invigilator.  It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that this proof is available at this time of the examination. If it is not available the exam may not proceed and will result in the loss of the appointment and the fee paid.

Venue
Other than when special arrangements have been made with the RSGB Examinations department it is the First Named Invigilators responsibility to ensure no person other than those listed on the application form are present during any exam. Should there be other people be present they must be asked to leave – if they do not the exam cannot proceed and will result in the loss of the appointment and the fee paid.

Examination Availability
RSGB Examinations are offered with the expectation that club invigilators will be available at the booked time and date.  Should the examination not be possible for any reason within the responsibility of the club the RSGB will not issue a refund for the booking.  Should the examination not be possible because of unavailability, technical issues or any other issues that are RSGB’s responsibility we will do our best to re-book this to a mutually convenient time and date.  The RSGB accepts no responsibility for any consequential loss and the limit of any liability is the cost of the examination.

Appointment Changes & Cancellations
Once a booking for an examination has been made and paid for it is considered final.  It is up to the Exam Secretary, the First Named Invigilator and candidates to check carefully that the chosen date and details are correct.  You will not be able to change your appointment unless there are exceptional circumstances.  Any changes or cancellations that are agreed by the RSGB Examination Department may be subject to an £10.00 administration charge per candidate.  If you are within 10 days of your appointment date unfortunately we are unable to refund any monies.

Special Requirements
Any candidate who may have special requirements connected to their examination should contact the RSGB Exams Department by email exams@rsgb.org.uk prior to making a booking to discuss their individual situation.  Any booking made prior to any discussion with the Examinations Department may be cancelled by the RSGB as it sees fit.  Any such cancellations may also be subject to an £10.00 administration charge.
