Nathan Nuttall, 2M0OCC became a District Representative (DR) for Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire (DR17) in late 2020. In April 2024, Nathan also became a member of the RSGB Board and is the Board Director responsible for Beyond Exams, Accessibility Liaison, Awards and Special Interest Groups (SIG).

His experience as a DR has given him the opportunity to support and assist local radio amateurs, as well as other groups in the area, including the GMDX group, which is a Scottish group that promotes DXing. At the various events he attends as a DR Nathan enjoys meeting new people and learning about various aspects of the hobby.

One event in particular that he enjoys is the Glasgow Rally, where he manages an RSGB bookstall. Nathan ensures that he is available to radio amateurs to answer questions about the RSGB and address any local concerns they may have.

He also regularly visits clubs within his area, and even if he is unable to meet in person, he ensures that people are able to get in touch via email or telephone.

To anyone considering volunteering, Nathan highly recommends doing it:

“Volunteering allows people to use their skills to contribute to the present and future of amateur radio, which I find incredibly rewarding. The more effort you put in, the more you gain from helping and enjoying the many aspects of the hobby. It’s a fantastic way to learn new things and meet a lot of new people along the way.”
