RSGB STEM Champion
Would you like to become the RSGB STEM Champion?
STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
As part of the Society’s strategic plans to reach new audiences, build relationships with related organisations and encourage more young people into STEM careers, we are advertising this new role of volunteer STEM Champion.
The STEM Champion will work closely with the Board Liaison, Ben Lloyd, GW4BML and members of the RSGB Outreach team.
The focus of the role will be to:
- Continue to develop and strengthen the Society’s relationship with the STEM Learning organisation
- Work closely with STEM Ambassadors who are licensed radio amateurs both to promote amateur radio to young people and to encourage them to take their amateur radio licence exams
- Attend STEM events to promote amateur radio
- Support radio amateurs who would like to become STEM Ambassadors
To make the most of the role you will need to have the right skills and experience:
- A STEM Ambassador with experience in the STEM sector
- Passionate about growing the number of young people involved in amateur radio
- Proactive, enthusiastic and willing to find new ways to achieve the role’s objectives
- Skills to lead and to build relationships with individuals and organisations
- Experience of managing your time efficiently
