July 2019 VLT meeting

20 July 2019 – VLT meeting key messages:

Updates on personnel changes since the AGM were given, both at Board and Regional level.

Three presentations took place, looking at several priorities from RSGB Strategy 2022.

Organisation: We will see the introduction of four delivery teams within the Society’s volunteer structure (Operating, Learning, Innovation and Representation). The new structure will simplify communications across our whole team of volunteers, which will in turn hopefully lead to a better service being provided to Members and clubs. More detail will follow in October’s RadCom.

Growth: Following a presentation on aspects of Future and Growth, discussions took place on defining the hobby and ensuring its continued attractiveness to newcomers. There was much passionate discussion on this matter. More to follow at the RSGB Convention.

Growth and Participation: An update was provided on the Train the Trainers course, and suggestions for dates and venues for 2020’s programme were requested.
