Eric Charles Ilott, VE3XE, 13 January 2015

Lieutenant-Colonel (ret) Eric Charles Ilott, VE3XE passed away peacefully on 13 January 13 2015 at the age of 95. Formerly G2JK, he joined the RSGB in 1935 and was a Member for nearly 80 years.

During the Second World War he was a Radio Security Service Listener for the War Office, sending daily reports to Bletchley Park, then joined the Army and became a Radar and Radio Officer.

Eric, with help from friends in the Signals Corps, was instrumental in bringing the first television signals to Kingston, Ontario (Canada).
