Amateur radio enthusiasts in Caithness and Orkney are sorry to announce the passing of one of our key radio amateur colleagues. GM7GMC was one of our longest serving GB2RS news readers. For over 25 years George was involved in reading the RSGB News at 9.30am local time, via the local repeater GB3OC. In 2014 fellow amateurs presented him with a glass microphone to mark his 21 years service. For 16 of those years he was the sole news reader without a break.
At the simple service he wished he was laid to rest on Tuesday 3rd May surrounded by his family and two amateur representatives at Warbeth Cemetery in Orkney.
