The RSGB 2024 Convention in a nutshell!

The RSGB’s 2024 Convention took place last weekend and brought together hundreds in person, as well as many more from across the world who watched via the livestream. This video shows some highlights from the event – click on the graphic below to watch, enjoy and be inspired to join us next year!

Speakers

Our keynote speaker this year was Rafal Lukawiecki, EI6LA who talked about “The future of amateur radio licensing and education”.

Presentations and our livestream

The RSGB Convention is renowned for assembling a unique collection of entertaining, intriguing and thought-provoking speakers. We had a fabulous line-up of speakers, organised into three streams: Getting started in (aimed at those who want to try something new), Operating and Technical.

If you were there and couldn’t fit in everything you wanted to see, why not watch the livestreams from each day? They focused mainly on ‘Getting started in’ presentations but had a few from the other streams too – head over to our livestream page

Over the coming weeks and months we will be sharing some presentations for everyone to see on YouTube and others just for RSGB members.

Practical activities

We held a number of forums, microcontroller programming workshops and the opportunity to test your Morse competency. We’ll be sharing more content from those to help you get involved so keep an eye out on our comms. You can see full details of what happened at the event on our workshops and forum page.

Special Interest Groups

One of the most interesting aspects of the Convention is the selection of special interest groups that attend. We spoke to most of them during the event and shared those interviews on our livestream: AMSAT, ARDF, BATC, BRARS/RAOTA, BYLARA, Chiltern DX Club, DXCC Card checking, Radio Officers ARS, RAIBC, RAYNET, UKBOTA/145 Alive, RSGB Contest Committees, UK Microwave Group, VMARS, Worked all Britain and WRTC 2026.

Your event

As part of the RSGB’s strategy, we wanted to ensure that this prestigious annual event not only met the needs of our members, but also helped every radio amateur to share their love of the hobby with others.
