{"id":8132,"date":"2013-08-07T14:37:23","date_gmt":"2013-08-07T14:37:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/?p=8132"},"modified":"2013-08-07T14:37:23","modified_gmt":"2013-08-07T14:37:23","slug":"review-of-national-regional-organisation-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/blog\/news\/2013\/08\/07\/review-of-national-regional-organisation-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Review of National Regional Organisation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Board have decided that a complete review\u00a0needs to be made of the RSGB national regional organisation.\u00a0 The thinking behind the creation of the Leadership Team in 2012 was that communication between the many specialist volunteers and the membership needs to be improved so that members realise greater value from their membership.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Board has asked the President Bob Whelan, G3PJT, to lead a President&#8217;s Advisory Group (PAG) to undertake the review.\u00a0 Apart from the President, the PAG will comprise the Company Secretary Rupert Thorogood, G3KKT and Board member Phillip Brookes, G4NZQ.<\/p>\n<p>The terms of reference\u00a0for the PAG are<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to review the existing national regional structure of the Society<\/li>\n<li>to formulate ideas for supporting\u00a0members both nationwide and locally<\/li>\n<li>to provide a provisional report to the Board by November 2013\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The PAG intends to conduct the review by seeking advice and comments from as wide a group of the membership as possible.\u00a0 In addition, it will be examining the way similar organisations to the RSGB structure their regional aspects.\u00a0 In particular the PAG will seek views on<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the types\u00a0of regional support services appropriate to the membership including new entrants\u00a0as well as existing members.<\/li>\n<li>the way that these might be delivered.<\/li>\n<li>the role of RSGB Committee members in the case of specialist support.<\/li>\n<li>how the regional services might be measured\u00a0to establish their effectiveness.<\/li>\n<li>how web services should be part of any recommendations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The PAG welcomes your input to this review.
