He built all his own kit and transmitted round the world on 10W! I have all his QSL cards and contact logs as well. He became a radio and ciphers specialist during the War, maintaining TypeX machines, and ran radio transmitter stations in Cyprus and Egypt (El Hagg), setting up a 12 channel broadcast transmitter, ahead of Marconi (sic), although he was never active again after the war.<\/p>\n<p>Peter H Fletcher<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m writing to let you know of the death of my father at the age of 98.
