{"id":6774,"date":"2013-05-09T09:35:41","date_gmt":"2013-05-09T09:35:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rsgbbeta.org\/?p=6774"},"modified":"2013-06-20T20:49:10","modified_gmt":"2013-06-20T20:49:10","slug":"wrc-15-background-and-information","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/blog\/news\/special-focus\/wrc-15\/2013\/05\/09\/wrc-15-background-and-information\/","title":{"rendered":"WRC-15 &#8211; Background and information"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The next ITU World Radio Conference in 2015 (WRC-15)<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-6612 alignright\" alt=\"ITU WRC-15\" src=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/files\/2013\/05\/WRC15-logo-150x148.png\" width=\"150\" height=\"148\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/files\/2013\/05\/WRC15-logo-150x148.png 150w, https:\/\/rsgb.org\/main\/files\/2013\/05\/WRC15-logo.png 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>has a number of Agenda Items (AIs) that are relevant to the amateur and amateur satellite services.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst most attention by amateurs is likely to be focussed on the prospect of a 5 MHz allocation, several other topics are included which represent either threats or opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>The conference will be held in Geneva on 2-27 November 2015, and preparatory studies and meetings are already underway at national, regional (inc CEPT) and ITU levels.<\/p>\n<p>Click for:- \u00a0<a href=\"\/main\/news\/special-focus\/wrc-15\/wrc-15-papers\/\">additional information and papers<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Agenda Items of interest to Amateur Radio are:-<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>AI-1.1: <\/strong>to consider additional spectrum allocations to the mobile service on a primary basis and identification of <strong>additional frequency bands for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>AI 1.4:<\/strong> <strong> <\/strong>to consider<strong> a possible new allocation to the amateur service on a secondary basis within the band 5 250-5 450 kHz<\/strong> in accordance with Resolution COM6\/12 (WRC-12)<\/li>\n<li><strong>AI 1.6.1:<\/strong> to consider possible additional primary allocations) to the fixed-satellite service (Earth-space and space-Earth) of 250 MHz in the range between <strong>10 GHz<\/strong> and 17 GHz in Region 1<\/li>\n<li><strong>AI 1.10:<\/strong> to consider possible additional spectrum allocations for the mobile-satellite service in the E-s and s-E directions, including the satellite component for broadband \/ IMT applications, within the frequency range from <strong>22 GHz to 26 GHz<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>AI 1.12: <\/strong> to consider an extension of the current worldwide allocation to the Earth exploration-satellite service in the frequency band 9 300 &#8211; 9 900 MHz by up to 600 MHz with the frequency bands 8 700 &#8211; 9 300 MHz and\/or<strong> 9 900 &#8211; 10 500 MHz<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>AI 1.18: <\/strong> to consider a primary allocation to the radiolocation service for automotive applications in the <strong>77.5 &#8211; 78.0 GHz<\/strong> frequency band<\/li>\n<li><strong>AI 8:<\/strong> to consider and take appropriate action on requests from administrations to delete their <strong>country footnotes<\/strong> or to have their country name deleted from footnotes, if no longer required<\/li>\n<li><strong>AI 9.1.4: <\/strong> Updating and rearrangement of the Radio Regulations<\/li>\n<li><strong>AI 9.1.8:<\/strong> Regulatory aspects for <strong>nanosatellites and picosatellites<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The next ITU World Radio Conference in 2015 (WRC-15)has a number of Agenda Items (AIs) that are relevant to the amateur and amateur satellite services.
